The Big Leap | Cabernet Franc 2016
Blocks of Cab Franc grown on the heavy red clay of the Back 10 Vineyard are notorious for small berries and low yields. The fruit is bunch thinned in the vineyard at the end of August and "optically sorted" after the harvesting. We “hand punch” our Franc every six hours in open top fermenters and age it in new, one, two, and three year old American Oak.
Luscious, and Bright with Brambleberry fruits with integrated cedar notes. Pair with BBQ’D lamb, a nice thick grilled steak, stews, veggie sausage or on its own by a roaring fire.

2013 The Big Leap Cabernet Franc
This is more proof we should be betting behind Cabernet Franc when it comes to great Ontario wine regardless of vintage. Simply put this wine is complex and elegant. There is a floral quality to the nose of this wine. In the mouth you have lots of Raspberry, Cherry, and Blackberry and just a touch of savory to the finish. The savory edge to this wine makes it perfect to pair with Red meat of all kinds. This needs to be paired with beef ribs finished on the barbeque. - Andre Wine Review
