It's been a very crazy week and it's so nice to sit down with a glass of wine and sign more of my books and reflect on how far we've come from when we first started this journey 15 years ago.
Our book, To Build a Vineyard tells our story of battling fire, goats , debt and doubt to acheive our dream of owning an award winning winery in Niagara. We bought this humble piece of red earth in Beamsvillle 15 years ago in our early 30's after quitting our jobs. Who could have imagined the stories we would have to tell....
A special thanks to RedStone Winery , Vineland Estats Winery and Featherstone Winery for so much support in carrying #tobuildavineyard It is so nice to see wineries supporting other wineries. Many of us have become close friends over the years . It isn't uncommon to find us "cheersing" with wines from our vineards on summer nights here in Niagara.
An excerpt from page 150 "We've been blessed to get to know the countless people here in wine country who own wineries and without hesitation simply wrapped their arms around us and mentored us without even having to be asked. Unlike any other business I have worked in, there isn't animosity or a sense of competition among the wineries where we live. None that I've seen anyway. There is a true community here of people who come together to make great Canadian wine and want nothing more than wine from this region to be recognized as some of the best in the world. A common love, common goal and common lifestyle weave us all together."
Cheers to doing what you love!
