Blood Sweat & Years |
This 2023 Vintage crop was reduced by severe winter weather across the Niagara region resulting in a micro volume of Blood Sweat & Years Pinot. These small berry 115 & 777 Pinoit Noir clones were picked in late September at a low 1.5 tonnes per acre.
This "heart break" grape requires the most amount of work in the vineyard, for the least amount of finished wine. This Pinot has a beautiful mouth watering acidity with a soft tannic grip, notes of forest floor, rose petal and cranberry.
Grab it before it's gone.

Rick VanSickle- (92 points) — The severe winter weather of 2023 left many wineries with a tiny amount of Pinot Noir. Back 10 had a micro crop for its Blood Sweat and Years Pinot, with yields as low as 1.5 tonnes per acre, but that doesn’t mean quality was impacted. The Pinot was aged for 12 months in French oak, 20% of which was new oak. It’s highly perfumed on the nose with pretty red berries, cranberries, a touch of anise and integrated, elegant oak spice notes. It has lovely texture with ripe tannins, crunchy acidity, the full range of red berries, aniseed, earthy/savoury notes and plenty of finesse on the long finish. Can age through 2030.

This pinot was simply stunning. The nose was violet and lilac with very subtle cherry. I can’t remember that last time I had a Pinot Noir with a nose that was quite so floral. The flavours of ripe cherry are delicate and soft with great acidity on the finish. It would be a shame to pair this wine with anything. Enjoy this one on its own. - 4.5/5 - Andre Wine Review
